Fun Safe Philly Summer is an initiative of Mayor Michael A. Nutter that was started in 2012 to help keep youth in Philadelphia engaged throughout the summer. The initiative focuses on connecting young people to free and low-cost summer programs, free summer meals, and, for teens, summer job opportunities.

Fun Safe Philly Summer increases awareness and access to these opportunities through a variety of means, including but not limited to: managing the City’s youth programs website, running a series of free summer
